Feeding the Fire

Utilizing a fiberglass wick, I needed to ensure that through capillary action, the wick would continue to burn

Controlling the fire

Testing different heights and methods of applying the wick to a surface gave me the ability to control the flame

Containing the fuel

Drilling a hole in a glass cylinder and creating a drip system that relied on the equalization of pressure to control the drip of liquid

Concrete

Concrete was an optimal material due to its inability to catch on fire. Creating a molding structure and the proper look proved to be time consuming. Testing different aggregate fixtures and different mold shapes to find the best combination

Choosing a circular mold was optimal because of its ability to retain heat and evenly distribute when lit. Also the circular shape got rid of any hard corners when making the mold making it easier to release.
